CuzHens LLC ("we") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and your choices.
1. Data we collect
- Account data: name, email, password (hashed), role (customer / vendor / admin), phone (optional), ZIP code.
- Vendor data: farm name, farm address, GPS coordinates (for map and distance sorting), product listings, photos, growing practices, business description.
- Customer activity: favorites, follows, reviews, messages with vendors, ZIP searches, push-notification subscriptions.
- Device data: IP address, browser type, referring page, and a session cookie used for login.
- Push notification data: an endpoint URL and public keys provided by your browser when you opt-in to Web Push.
- Order data (when applicable): items, quantities, pickup info, and payment confirmation (we never store full card numbers — those are handled by the payment processor).
2. How we use data
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Show nearby farms based on your ZIP code or browser location (if you allow it).
- Send service emails (login, password reset, moderation notices).
- Send opt-in marketing emails and Web Push notifications.
- Detect fraud, abuse, and violations of our Acceptable Use policy.
- Comply with legal obligations.
3. How we share data
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Vendors you contact (your name and message are visible to them).
- Service providers that help us run the platform — currently Supabase (database & file storage), Vercel / Emergent (hosting), and our email and push providers. Each is bound by data-processing terms.
- Authorities when required by law (subpoena, court order, or to protect rights and safety).
- A successor entity in the event of a merger or acquisition.
4. Cookies
See our Cookies Policy for the full list. Briefly, we use a single HTTP-only session cookie for login plus localStorage for UI preferences. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
5. Your choices
- Update / delete account: in your account settings or by emailing [email protected].
- Push notifications: toggle off in your browser or in account settings.
- Marketing emails: every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- Location: disable in your browser at any time. The ZIP code search will still work.
6. Data retention
We keep your account data while your account is active and for up to 24 months after closure for fraud-prevention, legal, and tax reasons. Anonymized or aggregated data may be retained longer.
7. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, please email [email protected] and we will delete the account.
8. Security
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Sessions use HTTP-only cookies. Database access uses Supabase Row-Level Security and service-role keys held only on the server. We use HTTPS everywhere. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password.
9. International users
The Service is operated from the United States. By using it, you consent to the transfer and processing of your data in the U.S.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g., California, EU), you may have the right to access, correct, port, or delete your personal data. Email [email protected] to make a request. We respond within 30 days.
11. Changes
We may update this policy. When we do, we'll change the "Effective" date and, for material changes, notify you by email or in-app banner.
